In December 2013, NZESL was proud to install the first electronic labels into a D.I.Y store in New Zealand. Mitre 10 Mega Porirua opened on 13th December 2013 with over 22,000 labels operating throughout the store. Two types of labels were used including E-paper labels on products that required features and benefits to be displayed. The majority of the store is segment based labels as these provide the lowest cost of ownership when only a price is required to be shown. All labels in store not only display price, they also can provide information for staff including stock quantity, stock on order, stock due date and supplier codes. This information is accessed via a small I.R Key empowering the staff on the shop floor. The Porirua location was part of their on-going nationwide expansion programme, which saw three stores completed in 2013
